Meet Jason Jones

My decision to become a psychologist stems from personal and family experiences that revealed just how deeply depression, anxiety, and trauma can impact a life. Those early experiences fueled a passion in me to help others navigate their own pain, discover a sense of relief, and feel more empowered to live authentically.

My style is pragmatic, conversational, genuine, and sometimes I interject my humor too! My ultimate goal is to create a compassionate and collaborative space where you feel comfortable and able to share your true self.

During my doctoral training, I focused my research on understanding depression and its effects with LGBTQ+ folks. That work helped deepen my understanding of the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals and continues to shape how I show up for clients today. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve had the privilege of providing psychotherapy to people from all walks of life, supporting them through trauma, identity exploration, anxiety, and more. Today, as member of the team at Aspire Psychology in Portland, I bring that experience to clients navigating trauma, identity exploration, anxiety, and more—offering grounded, evidence-based care in a city I’m proud to call home.

Beyond the Practice
I was raised in the Midwest by a family of autoworkers before moving to the West Coast, where I’ve spent the past 25 years. I love living close to the mountains and rivers—it’s a perfect fit for my love of the outdoors.

When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me:

  • Singing karaoke or making jokes with friends

  • Lifting weights or walking my dog

  • Camping under the stars or exploring nature trails

  • Soaking up everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer

How I Can Help

If you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you. My approach is grounded, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs—blending evidence-based therapies with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity.

Whether you're seeking trauma-focused therapy, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, or support with anxiety and life transitions, we'll work together to create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

I offer individual therapy both in-person at Aspire Psychology in Portland and via telehealth throughout Oregon, California, and Washington.
