Meet Jane Hobart

As a licensed psychologist, I understand that beginning therapy takes courage and vulnerability.  My priority is to help you feel safe, seen, and understood.  Many of my patients feel anxious before our first meeting – especially if it is their first time in therapy.  Afterwards, however, many describe a sense of relief from feeling genuinely comfortable and supported during our time together.

Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with patients across the lifespan facing a wide range of challenges. I have developed a particular interest in helping patients to effectively navigate the relational, cultural and systemic factors related to challenges with weight, health, and burnout. I enjoy supporting patients in building sustainable lifestyle changes that bring greater vitality and enjoyment to their lives. Before joining Aspire, I spent four years serving as the Lead Behavioral Health Provider at the Providence Center for Weight Management.  There, I helped hundreds of patients to prepare for and adjust to life following bariatric surgery and to learn behavioral strategies to optimize their use of weight-loss medications.

My therapeutic approach is deeply informed by my own experiences as a caregiver, spouse, parent, and psychologist. I understand how chronic stress can lead to deep burnout and health challenges, and I have learned to care for others in a way that leaves adequate time and energy to care for myself.

I approach my work with compassion, curiosity, and a commitment to meaningful change.  Together, we’ll clarify what matters most to you, recognize unhelpful patterns, and apply evidence-based tools – like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - to help you achieve the life you want, one that brings  meaning, renewed energy, and true fulfillment.

To support deeper healing and insight, I also draw on attachment theory and mindfulness-based practices.  We’ll take time to slow down and notice patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.  We’ll also take time to pause from analyzing and talking to re-connect you with what you are feeling and sensing in your body. Often, the therapy relationship itself becomes a safe space to gently explore how past experiences may still be influencing emotional and behavioral patterns in your present relationships. Above all, I view therapy as a collaborative process. I welcome feedback and believe that growth happens when we experiment, adjust, and discover what truly works for you.

ADHD Assessment for Adults

In addition to therapy, I provide ADHD evaluations for adults 18 and older.  These assessments include a clinical interview, feedback from trusted friends or family members, and the use of validated psychological tests. You’ll receive a clear, personalized report that offers diagnostic clarity and a treatment plan – often including therapy, skill-building strategies, and, when appropriate, medication management in collaboration with Aspire Psychology’s psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners.  My goal is for you to leave the process feeling informed, empowered, and equipped with tools to improve focus, organization, confidence, and overall well-being.

Outside the Therapy Room

When I’m not with friends and family, you’ll probably find me recharging through yoga, reading in bed with my cat, drawing, and doing my best to keep my plants alive.  I also love a good kitchen dance party or joyous car sing-along!
