Meet Alesin Sinclair
I came into this field through a deep belief that healing happens in relationships and that meaningful therapy begins with connection. Early in my work as a licensed clinical social worker — and in my own lived experiences — I saw how trauma, attachment, and identity shape not just how we think, but how we experience our bodies, our relationships, and the world around us. I knew I wanted to create spaces where people feel seen, safe, and supported — where healing can unfold at a pace that honors both courage and vulnerability.
Over the years, I have practiced across community mental health, academic, and private settings, developing expertise in trauma treatment, neurodiversity-affirming care, and relational repair. I have supported adolescents, adults, college students, and parents navigating complex trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, and major life transitions. In addition to clinical practice, I have served as faculty in the Social Work program at Portland State University and trained clinicians statewide in trauma-informed care. These roles have strengthened my commitment to evidence-based, ethical practice while honoring the deeply human and relational nature of healing.
My practice is attachment-based, trauma-informed therapy that is neurobiologically grounded. I am an EMDR-certified (EMDRIA-approved) therapist and integrate EMDR with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Somatic Processing Therapy (SPT), and Motivational Interviewing to support healing at both cognitive and body-based levels. I believe the mind and body heal together — sometimes one leads, sometimes the other — but sustainable change happens when we address both.
How I Can Help
If you’re looking for a licensed clinical social worker in Portland, Oregon or throughout the state who offers attachment-based, trauma-informed therapy that is neurobiologically grounded, I would be honored to support you. Whether you are seeking trauma therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, developmental trauma, or support for neurodivergence, anxiety, identity exploration, or major life transitions, we will build a therapeutic relationship rooted in safety, integration, and connection.
As an EMDR-certified (EMDRIA-approved) therapist and Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, I provide evidence-based EMDR therapy and neurodiversity-affirming therapy that support both cognitive and body-based healing. Together, we will work to better understand your nervous system, strengthen regulation, and create sustainable pathways toward resilience and embodied change.
Therapy with me is strength-based and collaborative, grounded in the belief that healing is possible through integration and connection. I approach our work as a partnership, where we gently explore patterns, deepen self-understanding, and support the nervous system in developing new pathways toward safety and resilience.
It is an honor to walk alongside my patients as they move toward deeper self-understanding, embodied healing, and stronger, more connected lives.
I offer in-person therapy at Aspire Psychology in Portland, Oregon and secure telehealth therapy throughout Oregon, making it easier to access care in a way that fits your needs.
